How do I know if my product has been treated with a toxic metal-safe coating?
A safe product is one that meets the requirements of the Australian Standards Association, the national industry association.
They are designed to ensure that the product is free of dangerous chemicals and that the materials used in it are safe to use.

If I can’t use my product, can I use a “toxin free” steel plate?
If you’re not sure if a product meets the ASTM E13 standard, then it might be worth consulting with a qualified professional to make sure it does.
A toxic metal safe coating is the coating that is applied to the product, rather than the product itself.
In the case of steel, there’s no chemical compound that can actually form on the surface of the steel.
