Coiling plates are a staple in mining, and the mining industry is not unique in its love of them.
But what is unique about the steel plate industry is how quickly the metal is being replaced with a more robust alternative.
A new company, Steel Plate Technologies, is making a product that replaces the metal with a ceramic material, called a ceramic alloy, that is more durable and less prone to cracking.
The company says that the ceramic alloy will be available by 2020.
The idea behind the ceramic metal is to provide more protection against the corrosion that can occur in steel.
That could be the difference between a mine that could close or stay open.
Steel Plate Technologies CEO Mark Naylor told Business Insider that he started to research the ceramic material a few years ago when he was looking for a better way to protect against cracks in the mine.
Naylor said that the company has already seen a drop in the number of fractures that occur when the metal hits concrete.
“The problem with the steel plates is that they’re very brittle, and you can break them,” he said.
“The ceramic alloy has this great ability to hold up.”
The ceramic ceramic alloy can be made from ceramic, which is a material that has a ceramic structure.
The material is used in high-end ceramics.
The ceramic coating on the ceramic can help the metal resist rust and corrosion.
Naylor said the ceramic ceramic was used in a number of applications before the ceramic coating was introduced in 2014.
“It’s really a one-time use material,” he told Business Insider.
“I think the ceramic has been very successful in the steel industry.”
The company is also developing ceramic steel plates that are more durable, more resistant to corrosion, and more resistant against heat.
It is also looking to use ceramic in the aluminum industry.
The ceramic coating is applied to the outside of the steel or aluminum plates to increase their resilience.
It helps prevent them from cracking, but can also be used to strengthen them.
“We’ve been able to reduce the amount of metal that’s coming off of the plates, so that’s a very good thing,” Naylor added.
Nathan said that when he first started to study ceramic, he was worried about the material being susceptible to wear and tear.
But he said that ceramic plates can be coated in other materials and not lose their ability to withstand the stresses of mining.
The company has been able reduce the weight of the ceramic plates by 30% in the last three years.
Nason said that they are also able to increase the strength of the material by about 15%.
Naylor expects that the ceramic alloy will make ceramic plates a standard material in the industry, which could be a boon to mining operations.
Nason said the company is not the first company to look at ceramic in mining applications.
The same company that made steel plates also is developing a ceramic coating for a variety of applications.
