A group of users has launched a new website where they are tracking down the steel plate and steel ops plate that killed steel plates in Sydney last week.
The group has since set up a new account on GoFundMe to raise money for the recovery of the bodies.
“We will be using the GoFundme to raise the funds to recover the bodies of the three victims that were found in the steel plates,” a GoFundMepi representative said.
“As of now, we have a total of $17,000 raised from our community.
The goal of this campaign is to raise funds for the families and their families to recover their loved ones.”
The incident took place in a building on Swanston Street in Newtown at around 7:30pm on May 18.
Two police officers were walking on the street when they came across a man who appeared to have been stabbed.
“He said he was shot in the back,” an eyewitness told 7.30.
The police officers pursued the man but he ran away.
The officers stopped the man and took him to the Royal Victoria Hospital, where he died a short time later.
The investigation is ongoing and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
