The steel plates are made of two-ply stainless steel and are used to hold the wheels on the car.
The plates weigh an average of 13kg (22.7lb) and are the most heavy part of the car, weighing an average 1.8kg (3.3lb) per side.
The plate is a very heavy piece of steel, weighing a whopping 13.6kg (23.2lb) or 2.3kg (7.2lbs) per inch.
A spokesperson for the company said that the plates were made to fit the car’s original bodywork.
However, a spokesperson for Mr Cocker said the plates would be removed to allow for the body to be repaired and repainted, but said they would not be replaced.
A spokesman for Vauxhalls said: “This issue has been resolved and we will continue to support the customer and their vehicle as we strive to make our cars as good as possible for customers.”
